KZT guide rings are guide components made of bronze-filled PTFE, a composite material that combines the low friction of PTFE with the increased load-bearing capacity of bronze. They are used in hydraulic cylinders with large diameters and high lateral loads, where rings made of POM or pure PTFE do not have sufficient load-bearing capacity.
Bronze-filled PTFE is a PTFE matrix in which bronze particles are evenly distributed. Bronze increases resistance to compression and mechanical wear compared to pure PTFE. PTFE maintains a low coefficient of friction and provides self-lubrication of the contact surface. The result is a material with low friction, high load-bearing capacity, and resistance to abrasive wear. You can find the complete catalog of guide rings on hydsealstore.ro.
KZT rings are relevant in large-diameter cylinders, where lateral loads can exceed the capacity of standard POM rings. Heavy industry — presses, cranes, massive lifting cylinders — is the main area of application. Also compare with HEN guide rings made of POM for moderate loads.
KZT rings are selected according to the inner diameter, outer diameter, and groove width. With composite materials, installation tolerances are stricter compared to elastomers. Check that the radial and axial clearance falls within the manufacturer's specifications. They are replaced during a complete cylinder overhaul when the radial clearance exceeds the tolerances. Also compare with WR POM guide ring for applications with a WR profile.
