WRT guide strips are guide components made of CFP composite material (carbon fiber PTFE), used in hydraulic cylinders to absorb high lateral loads and precisely guide the piston or rod. CFP combines the mechanical strength of carbon fibers with the sliding properties of PTFE, achieving a higher load-bearing capacity compared to pure PTFE, without significantly increasing the coefficient of friction.
CFP is a PTFE matrix reinforced with carbon fibers. The fibers significantly increase resistance to compression and mechanical wear compared to pure PTFE, allowing use in applications with higher lateral loads or higher sliding speeds. The coefficient of friction remains low, similar to pure PTFE. You can find the complete catalog of guide strips on Hydraulic Seals Store.
WRT strips are installed in the guide grooves of the piston or cylinder head, depending on the distribution of lateral loads in the application. In cylinders with high lateral loads at the outer end of the stroke, the strip is installed on the cylinder head; with evenly distributed loads, on the piston. Also compare with BST guide strip made of pure PTFE for moderate loads.
WRT strip is available in standardized thicknesses and widths. The thickness is selected according to the available clearance in the groove; the width determines the contact surface and load-bearing capacity. The length of the installed segment is calculated from the circumference of the groove, minus a small thermal expansion clearance. Also compare with guide rings prefabricated for some applications.
